                                                45,000 won/year (or $45 US)

5.      When and where are the team workouts held?

Most training occurs in the Itaewon area

Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday/Sundays.

 

 

6.      How many workouts are members required to attend?

                                                None are required.

Come out to as many or as few as you would like.

 

7.      In order to fit in with the team and get started, at what level of fitness do I need to be?

                                                There isn’t a set fitness requirement.  To feel at ease, though, you                                   Top

                                                may want to be at least able to run a 5K-10K easily to train with

                                                the team.  Beginners are welcome.

 

8.      Do you have a running coach? If so, what does he/she do?

Currently, our running coach is Grant Pettrie.

Grant sets up weekly training routines and is a great motivator.

He emails the team members weekly with information.

Grant is willing to set up individual workouts when asked to do so.

 

9.      Do you have monthly team meetings? Where are the meetings held?

                                                We do have monthly meetings.

The once-a-month meetings occur on the first Tuesday of each month at 7pm (approx. an hour in length)

They happen at various locations in the Itaewon area.

(Maps and directions are always provided.)

 

10.  When is the triathlon season in Korea?

                                                Late April to early October.                                                                                              Top

 

11.  How many races does the team compete in per year?

There is no set number. Each athlete competes in a number he/she is comfortable with each season. There are MANY races in Korea to chose from (running and triathlon), and we do our best as a team to help you with the registration, etc.

12.  How much do the races cost? (averages)

* Average Korean organized triathlon:  40,000 won+

* ½ Ironman Distance Triathlon:  90,000

* Military sponsored races:  no cost (within Korea)  

 

* Korean organized races:

5K:  20,000 won           

10K:  20,000 won                  

Half-marathon: 30,000 won                                                                                         Top

** Overseas Races:                 

Laguna Phuket International Triathlon: $165 US                    

Ironman races: $300 US+  

Boston Marathon:   $95 US (US Residents),

        $125 US (International participants)      

 

 

13.  How does the team get to the race locations?

                                    Many times, the team will organize to carpool to event or supply funds for transportation for team event.

 

14.  Where is lodging during races?

Most races are local ones that the team competes in. If they are overnight events, our race coordinator tends to look into accommodations for the team.

Yes,we have great sponsors. They are TriSports.com-15% discount, Rudy Project USA-50% discount and SockGuy.com from the States; and Kevin’s Bike - 15%, Plus Planner, East Wave Corp and InfinIT from Australia.

                                    Seoul Synergy members have been pleased with the Hana Hotel in Jeju during Ironman 2003-2006.
